Elections support

Cotswold District Council are looking for expressions of interest from people who would like to work at the elections. Expressing an interest does not guarantee a position. We hold details on file and will be in touch if there is a vacancy which fits your circumstances.

Roles

  • Presiding Officer
  • Polling Clerk
  • Postal Vote Issuer and Postal Vote Receipt
  • Verification and Count Assistant

Rate of pay

  • Presiding Officer - £250.00 plus mileage and fees for training
  • Polling Clerk - £180.00 plus mileage and fees for training
  • Postal Vote, Verification and Count roles are paid at £12.50 per hour

The above fees are under review and final figures will be provided in final appointment letters. All payments are taxable, but no National Insurance is deducted.   

Eligibility

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to be able to help with polling station duties and the count
  • Must be at least 16 years of age to be able to help with postal vote issue and receipt
  • Must be able to provide proof of ID and right to work in the UK
