Electrical vehicle charging points (EVCP)
Two rapid vehicle charging points have been installed in two of our Council Car Parks. The rapid chargers will allow motorists with electrical vehicles to charge their vehicles in 30 minutes.
- Old Market Way Car Park, Moreton in Marsh, Glos GL56 0JY
- Beeches Road Car Park, Cirencester, Glos GL7 1BW
The cost is £4.00 to charge and park for 1 hour maximum.
How to charge
The electrical vehicle charging points are operated by Charge Your Car and can be accessed by 3 different methods. Please ( what does this mean?)
- visit the Charge your car website or
- phone 01912 605625.
Parking restrictions for the electrical charging bays
- The electrical vehicle must be connected and charging
- The parking space is for electrical vehicles only
- There is a 1 hour maximum limit and the car must then be moved to another space if the owner wishes to remain parked.
- Failure to comply with the parking restrictions may result in a penalty charge notice.
The easiest way to pay is cashless parking via your mobile phone. You can also pay at the machine, however please be aware that the machine is unable to give change.
The Council has one off street car park that is able to accommodate motor home style vehicles; unfortunately this does not include overnight stays.
The site is Maugersbury Road car park, Stow-on-the-Wold, GL54 1AQ.
If this car park is not convenient, please try the Waterloo- Cirencester GL7 2PY, or Beeches - Cirencester GL7 1BW, car parks. If your camper van occupies more than one space, you must purchase a ticket equivalent to the number of spaces taken.
Parking for blue badge holders
Blue badge holders must pay to park at the Market Square car park in Chipping Campden as this isn't owned by the Council.
Valid blue badge holders may park free of charge in any other Cotswold District Council car park of listed above up to the maximum stay of that car park. You must:
- clearly display your blue badge and time clock at all times on the dashboard of the vehicle
- park within the marked bay.
On street parking
Gloucestershire County Council are responsible for on street parking. Badge holders will need to look out for signs indicating where the disabled persons badge can be used. A blue badge does not give the badge holder the right to free parking automatically and some places still charge even if you display a blue badge. You should always read the nearest parking signs.
