More than nine months after work began, Cotswolds Tourism will this Thursday unveil a brand new suite of immersive experiences and itineraries for the travel trade.

The experiences are part of ‘Uncover the Cotswolds’ a project showcasing new and unique activities in less well-known parts of the Cotswolds, Forest of Dean, Wye Valley and Bath.

Following a hugely successful mission at the ITB Berlin meeting, travel trade operators from across Europe, members of the tourism industry and those involved in the project locally have all been invited to celebrate the launch of the project and preview of the new website www.cotswolds.com/trade at a special event on Thursday 21 March from 5 to 7pm.

The launch event will take place at one of the new experiences uncovered during the project,  Brockworth Court near Cheltenham – an atmospheric and part-timbered house dating from the 1290’s and visited by Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn in 1535.

Uncover the Cotswolds was made possible thanks to funding from the Discover England Fund, and is one of a number of projects to benefit from Year 3 funding of the UK Government’s £40 million Discover England Fund. The Fund is administered by VisitEngland and involves a programme of activity to ensure that England stays competitive in the rapidly growing global tourism industry, by offering world-class English tourism products to the right customers at the right time. Uncover The Cotswolds is initially aimed at the Italian, Spanish and Nordic markets with visitors encouraged to visit at any time of the year.

Cotswolds Tourism are thrilled to have been given a unique chance to showcase new activities across a wider area, many of which are in places that consumers and the travel trade may not have heard of.   The experiences include exclusive behind-the-scenes access to hidden attractions, and hearing stories from the people living and working in the Cotswolds.  It highlights the wealth of incredible things to do, places to go and food and drink in an area known throughout the world for breathtakingly beautiful towns, villages and countryside.

Uncover The Cotswolds is an exciting way to offer unforgettable products to travel trade customers and consumers.  The new travel trade website, will feature a wealth of information and immersive new experiences and content will continue to be built up over the coming months supported by the local destination organisations.

Further focus will be given to the project as part of English Tourism week when MP’s from the area have been invited to visit one of their local experiences on 5 April.
