Cirencester parking webpage launched

Release date: 29 June 2016

Cotswold District Council has launched a web page explaining what is being done to address the high demand for parking spaces at peak times in Cirencester.

For more information and frequently asked questions please:

Cllr Harris believes that the addition to the website is a big step forward in keeping the public up to date with the efforts being made to address parking provision:

“We want to use this site as a means of letting people know all the latest news about how we are going to improve parking facilities in Cirencester, both in the short and longer term.  Many people have an opinion about parking and this is a great way of capturing views from individuals and groups to help us tackle this issue. We are starting small but, as the new web page evolves, we hope to add other features such as: data showing peak usage; maps; parking offers; and alternative healthy transport options.”

Cllr Mark MacKenzie-Charrington, the CDC Cabinet Member with overall responsibility for the Cirencester car parking project, adds:

“Dealing with parking problems in Cirencester is one of the Council’s top tasks and it is important that everyone knows about any progress we make as soon as possible. We are creating this ‘one-stop shop’ webpage for everyone to keep track of our efforts to improve parking in the town, and perhaps even help us to make things better.   I very much hope that people will be better informed by consulting the site on a regular basis. ”
