Relay for Life runners will be well watered – thanks to Publica

Release date: 23 July 2018

Competitors taking part in the Cirencester Relay for Life Event at South Cerney airfield on Saturday 28 July should not run dry, thanks to a donation of 500 bottles of water from Publica Group*.

The relay event, which begins at 11 am (at Northmoor Lane, opposite the golf course), is raising funds for Cancer Research UK. Aside from the relay itself the organisers are staging a family fun day with live music, cake stalls, cream teas, silent disco, tombola, inflatables, face painting, tombola, hair braiding, food and drink, and a prize raffle.

Commenting on the forthcoming event, Publica Group Managing Director David Neudegg said:

“We are very pleased to donate water for the Cirencester Relay for Life event  –  given the probability of warm weather on the day, there will be a risk of dehydration for the participants and I am sure they will be pleased to know that plenty of water is easily available.  I hope all goes well and I wish the organisers the very best of luck in raising lots of money for such a worthy cause.”

Cllr Stephen Hirst, Cabinet Member for Health issues at Publica Partner Cotswold District Council added:

“A family fun day is the ideal way to support Cancer Research UK, and I hope that the event on 28 July is very successful.  Thanks to Publica, there should be no shortage of water for the runners.  Forecasts currently show that the temperature on the day should be around 25 degrees C, and I would advise everyone at the event to apply plenty of sunscreen and to wear hats.  Even if the clouds roll in, the advice still applies – the sun will continue to pose a significant risk.”
