Waste collections as normal in Cotswolds today

Release date: 15 January 2016

Cotswold District Council has confirmed that waste collections will continue as usual today despite icy conditions in the morning and a yellow weather warning from the Met Office, indicating a chance of ice and snow.

Residents should present waste for collection at the kerbside as normal.  Our environmental services provider, Ubico Ltd is confident that the crews can work to their usual schedule.

Obviously, the situation may worsen next week, and you can keep up to date with the latest advice on bin collections by checking:

Cllr Sue Coakley, CDC Cabinet Member for Health, Environment and Communities, says:

“In the event of snow and ice, Ubico and the Council will assess whether it is safe for crews to continue with collections as normal. In the unlikely event that services are completely suspended, we have a policy in place to catch up on collections as soon as it is safe to do so, and we will publicise the revised collection arrangements.”
