Waste collections as normal on 29 August
Release date: 12 August 2016
Cotswold District Council has confirmed that its waste service company, Ubico Ltd, will be collecting waste and recycling from households as usual on the forthcoming public holiday which falls on Monday 29 August.
Cllr Sue Coakley, Cabinet Member for Environment, said:
“We want residents to be assured that there should be no disruption to the normal CDC waste collection schedules on 29 August. The Ubico crews will be working as normal.
“We expect that this public holiday will generate a considerable amount of domestic waste, especially as people may be arranging or attending outdoor events. We would urge everyone to reduce, reuse and recycle waste, keep our towns and villages tidy, and take maximum advantage of the kerbside and other recycling collection services available.
“Everyone can help us reduce the amount of waste across the district that is going to landfill. The cost of burying waste is over £80 per tonne – an increase of about 350% over the last ten years, and this emphasises why we need to reduce, reuse and recycle.”
Any queries should be referred to the waste hotline on 01285 623123.
