Planning fees

In most cases you will have to pay a fee when you apply for planning permission or similar consents (including planning permission; approval of reserved matters; consent for the display of advertisement etc.)    Certain application types do not require payment, for example Listed Building Consent.  Application fees are set by the government and are the same for all councils across the country.   The fees increased by 15% on Thursday 22nd November 2012.

The simplest way to calculate the fee payable is to use the  Planning Portal's fee calculator.  Alternatively you can follow this link to the 2012 table of fees .

APPLICATIONS WHICH ARE NOT ACCOMPANIED BY THE CORRECT FEE WILL NOT BE DECIDED UNTIL THE CORRECT FEE HAS BEEN PAID.

Payment Methods

If you submit your planning application electronically via the Planning Portal, you are able to pay online.

If you submit a paper version of your application to the Council, you are currently not able to pay online.  Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to “Cotswold District Council”.

It would considerably assist in the speedy processing of your application if separate cheques could be attached to each application for Planning and Building Regulations Approval.

Additional Information

If you are in any doubt regarding a specific fee or possible exemption, please contact planning@cotswld.gov.uk

The relevant legislation will be The Town and Country Planning (Fees for Applications, Deemed Applications, Requests and Site Visits) (England) Regulations 2012.
