Compostable liners

Keeping your food waste container clean

A network of local retailers has been set up in the Cotswolds to sell compostable liners which will be suitable for use under the District’s new food waste collection service.

The weekly collection of food waste for composting is a key element of Cotswold District Council’s new waste and recycling collection service.

All households have been issued with a 10-litre food waste container for use under the service. The container will be dishwasher-proof, but if residents want to keep it clean between collections, they will be able to line it either with a small amount of newspaper or an approved compostable liner displaying the compostable logo.

These liners are already available for sale at a number of local retailers across the District, including:

  • Gardiners Homecentre, 68-72 Dyer Street, Cirencester
  • Chesterton Stores, 35 Countess Lilias Road, Cirencester
