Healthy Eating for Schools & Carers Training Facility

Brief description

To develop a purpose built facility to deliver high quality local training for school cooks and homecare staff, which prepare food. 

Outcomes

Improved health of young and older people in the community, through healthier eating habits.

Job creation.

Increased learning and skills and benefits to local producers.

Achievements

The new Training Kitchen at the Royal Agricultural College is now open. School cooks from around the county will be attending courses to learn not only cookery skills, but also about food sourcing and nutrition. The new facility will also be helping those in the care sector and will be developed as a community facility for parents, children, students and may others, to help deliver all aspects of the Healthy Eating agenda.
