Community Safety

  • Anti-Social Behaviour
    Helping residents feel safe in their communities by working in partnership to help tackle and reduce crime and the fear of crime.

  • Arson Task Force
    The Fire and Rescue Service, Police, County Council, all Gloucestershire Local Authorities, the Probation Service and the Youth Offenders Service have joined forces to fight the causes of arson.

  • CCTV
    Closed circuit television is one of the tools used in the fight against crime and to reduce the fear of crime.

  • Community Safety Strategy
    A crime and disorder audit has identified local issues to be addressed by the Cotswold Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership. These have been translated into the priorities for our current Community Safety Strategy.

  • Firework Safety
    Information about safely enjoying traditional celebrations such as Bonfire Night or New Year's Eve.

About the Community Safety Service

‘What is the Council Doing?’

The Council works closely in partnership with other agencies to reduce crime and  the fear of crime. The Partnership includes:

  • Gloucestershire Constabulary
  • The Police Authority
  • Gloucestershire County Council
  • Cotswold and Vale Primary Care Trust
  • The Drug and Alcohol Action Team
  • Fosseway Housing Association
  • Other registered social landlords.

The community safety team focuses on crime reduction and diversion projects with colleagues in the two Inspector Neighbourhood Areas covering the north and south of the District and with the youth service leaders.
