Abandoned vehicles
Introduction
Abandoned vehicles are increasingly becoming a problem on our roads and on private land; working with the community we can quickly remove abandoned vehicles and make the environment safe for everyone.
There are tell tale signs if a vehicle is abandoned these include no current tax disc on display, components missing, broken windows and vegetation growing on or around the vehicle.
It is important to note that just because a vehicle is not displaying a valid tax disc does not mean it abandoned.
There are many reasons why a vehicle may have been legitimately left, it may be a nuisance but not abandoned, it could have broken down, been the result of a crime or awaiting collection by the owner.
The following pages will explain what Cotswold District Council will do and how to report an abandoned vehicle
The Council will remove an alleged abandoned vehicle from the highway and make investigations as to its ownership.
