Temporary emergency collection points for non-recyclable waste to open in Cirencester and Tetbury

Release Date: Feb 01, 2013

Normal waste collections resumed this week across Cotswold District.  However, to assist residents in the South of the District, where collections were not possible last week due to the bad weather, emergency collection points will be opened for those residents who wish to dispose of any bagged non-recyclable waste now, rather than storing it until their normal kerbside collection next week.

Emergency collection points will be provided in the following car parks:

  • Tetbury
Tesco’s car park, London Road, Tetbury.

  • Cirencester
Car and Lorry Park, Cricklade Road, Cirencester (Near Kingsmeadow Tesco’s).

These collection points will be open from 8:00am until 2:00pm on Saturday 02 February.

Ubico are asking the public to respect the opening times of the sites, and not to leave bags when it is clear that operations have ceased.

Any queries regarding CDC collections should be directed to the waste hotline on:

  • 01285 623 123

Residents are also reminded that all Household Recycling Centres in Gloucestershire are open seven days a week from 9:00am to 6:15 pm.  The nearest one for most Cotswold residents is at Fosse Cross (just off the A429 near Calmsden).

The site operates a booking system for those wishing to deposit waste from vans, pick-ups or vehicles with trailers with a load space larger than 6ft x 4ft. If you wish to make a reservation for these types of loads, or have any other queries regarding these Centres, please telephone 0845 602 9344.
