Building Successful Customer Relations at CDC!

Release Date: Apr 24, 2012

Cotswold District Council’s Building Control Service has reported a 97% satisfaction rate when consulting customers during 2011-12.

Throughout the year the Council’s Building Control Surveyors arranged for a customer questionnaire to be sent out after a completion inspection had been carried out at a customer’s premises. Almost 70 questionnaires were returned (a response rate close to 40%) and some 97% of responses indicated that the respondents were fully satisfied. Furthermore, there were no forms submitted indicating that customers had not been satisfied.

Commenting on this success, Cllr Sue Jepson, the Cabinet lead for Building Control, said: “This is a great result and speaks volumes for the professionalism and helpfulness of our Building Control team at CDC.”

She continued: “Hitting a return rate of almost 40% is really encouraging and shows that the figures are representative of the excellent service the team is providing.”

John Hill, CDC’s Building Control Manager, was also very pleased with the end of year result but cautioned: “We are delighted that we have recorded such high scores but we realise that there is no room for complacency. The Officers pay close attention to the comments submitted alongside the satisfaction scores, and the team will strive to continue improving the efficiency of our service.”
