Look out for your poll card in the post!
Release date: 30 March 2016
The Gloucestershire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) election takes place on Thursday 5 May, and Cotswold District Council has now posted poll cards to residents who have registered to vote.
Please look out for your poll card in the mail and don’t forget to tell the Council if any of your details have changed. Also please remember that the deadline for postal vote applications to vote in the PCC election is 19 April.
Sarah Dalby, electoral services manager for Cotswold District Council, explains:
“It’s always important to check the details on your polling card and make sure that they are correct. It is very easy to update the information if you need to make any changes – you can do this online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote or call our team on 01285 623002.
“People sometimes think they can register for a postal vote just before an election, but we need sufficient time to process these requests and that is why the deadline for the PCC election is 19 April.
“I must also remind those who haven’t registered so far that they have until 18 April to sign up at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote - or call 01285 623002 for a paper form - to ensure that they can vote in the forthcoming PCC election on 5 May. By doing so, you would also be registered in good time ahead of the referendum vote regarding the UK’s membership of the European Union on 23 June.”
