Council apologises for Bourton car park payment delays
Release date: 6 August 2015
Cotswold District Council has apologised to the public for delays in paying for parking at the Rissington Road car park in Bourton-on-the-Water. Normally there are three machines available but one has been stolen and the power supply to a second linked machine has had to be isolated for safety reasons.
Cllr Chris Hancock, Cabinet Member for Enterprise and Partnerships at CDC, said:
“We are very sorry that motorists are facing delays in paying for their parking at Bourton. The stolen machine will take a number of weeks to replace. We have asked the electric company to prioritise the restoration of power to the other machine which is currently out of action. We have erected signs at the car park explaining the delays, and reminding users that they may wish to use the mobile phone payment option which is very simple and by-passes the need for a machine. Additionally, anyone intending to visit Bourton may wish to register in advance for the MiPermit cashless payment system to avoid any potential delays.”
To pay by phone, please text the word ‘park’ and your registration number (for example: A123BCD) to 603000. MiPermit will respond requesting your location and payment details. The location number for the Bourton car park is 705312.
To register in advance for cashless payment for parking, please go to https://secure.mipermit.com/cotswold/Application/home.aspx
Any queries should be referred to the parking team on 01285 623000.
