No changes to waste collections on 2 May

Release date: 27 April 2016

Cotswold District Council is reminding residents that refuse and recycling collections due on Monday 2 May will be taking place as usual.

Councillor Sue Coakley,  Cabinet Member for Health, Environment and Communities at CDC, said:

"Most residents are aware that we will only make changes to Christmas collection schedules this year, but it is always useful to remind the public that it is ‘business as usual’ on other public holidays.  This means that our waste service provider, Ubico Ltd, will be working normal hours during the two Bank Holiday Mondays in May (2 and 30 May) and on August Bank Holiday Monday (29 August).”

She added: “All bank holidays tend to generate additional waste as families take the opportunity to meet up or get out and about.  As a result, we are encouraging everyone to recycle as much as possible, including food and drink packaging. Ubico crews collect recycling at the kerbside every fortnight, and recycling ‘bring banks’ are also available across the District.”
